Zander couldn't help laughing- the ONLY thing he'd hear? "Please, Gabe, honestly," the chuckle thrust itself into his words, try as he might to contain it. "Every single religious person I've met has either spit at me, called me something very inappropriate, or smacked me off side the head. Hell, I've been splashed with "holy water" more times than I can remember." He grinned up at the taller of them, the pink umbrella just another reminder. He wasn't really bothered by the accusation of them being a couple; in fact, it got him thinking.
"How ridiculous would it be, honestly, if we led everyone on for just a day?" He was laughing again, sounding like a much younger boy, tail curling and uncurling in a happy twitch. So like him, with these firey mood swings. "The pink umbrella would just be the beginning, eh? Soon those girls would be blogging and IMing in their SLEEP, they'd be so revved." He struck a dramatic pose, half kneeling, "OH, THE YOUTH OF TODAY, SO EASILY ENTERTAINED!" everyone within hearing distance jumped- Zander's yell was definitely not light on the ears.
"I'm Zander. Zander Everything, destroyer of worlds."
AND WHAT THE HELL WAS HE TALKING ABOUT?

Gabriel was torn emotionally between two similar, but still very distinct options.
One of which was to laugh insanely at Zander and his oddly inappropriate actions. The other was to run screaming from the sight of them like a little girl.
After going over the options for a short while, he decided that although he didn’t mind people thinking odd things about him, he was opposed to the screaming like a girl thing, and even just the running away bit was almost guaranteed to lose him a conversation-buddy, one of few he’d actually gathered over the years.
So, he started laughing.
As his laughter had been earlier, it seemed horribly out of place, and very hard to tell if that was even a happy-noise he was making. He sounded almost like he was choking, or like he’d been punched very hard in the gut and was trying to get over the pain.
It took some time for him to stop, and although it was not measured properly, it was easy to assume that it had lasted for about three eons. Though awkward moments do have a way of stretching time.
Eventually, Gabriel noticed people were looking at them oddly and cleared his throat as though none of his laughter or Zander’s shouts to the world had ever really happened. It was all in their heads. They were the normal ones here.
“It would be funny, I’ll admit.” Gabriel said slowly once a couple heads had turned back to their own business. “Though it honestly depends on how many worlds you’ve destroyed.”

"FORTY TWO."
The reply came without missing a beat; Zander's grin was still plastered to his face, eyes glinting at the satisfaction Gabe's laughter had brought to the situation. He held the door open for his new 'partner in crime' as he closed the umbrella and slunk inside Building Three. Linoleum clunked underfoot and white lights buzzed overhead, the coral lockers plastered to the walls glinting happily. The bell wouldn't ring for another five minutes, and his class was relatively close. He shook the dampness from his hair and straightened everything on his person- just out of habit. He turned to Gabe.
"What class did you say you had next? It's Spanish for me, and I'm not so gifted in it. I've never been a ditcher, but today would be great-- if not for the rain."
Would he see Gabe after class? He felt a kind of twinge in his stomach. This guy was pretty entertaining, with his sarcastic remarks and upper-classmen wisdom. It surprised him they had lasted this long in conversation, especially since there had been more than one awkward moment, and wished that the Spanish Room would explode, exempting him from class.
No gunpowder, though, and so he waited for Gabe's answer.

Though Gabriel was truly loath to leave the rain he followed Zander into the building, shaking the water off him in a way that would seem he was mimicking a dog or other such animal. Water droplets flew across the room and startled a couple people that were so unfortunate as to be in his firing range. “I’ve got English next myself.” Gabriel frowned inwardly, he didn’t mind English, really, he didn’t. Or at least that’s what he kept telling himself. Though he didn’t hate English its self, he just hated the over-analyzing of silly books.
“Don’t ditch much either, to tell you the truth, a lotta people think I do, but hell they have problems.” He managed a small laugh again “I still have to admit that I do love this weather though. Rain: one of the few things worth going outside for.” The way he’d said it made it unclear whether he’d meant it as a joke or not, but there was not much time to ponder it as he kept speaking.
“Spanish, eh? Sounds like a pain in the ass.” He continued flicking the rain off of himself, droplet by droplet, obviously not in a rush to get to class.
“I bet your world destroying expertise would come in handy if you could use it on the Spanish class. Though… well that might not have a happy ending… for your school career that is… still… good fun.”

Gabriel looked up suddenly, feeling an odd impulsiveness that he was not accustomed to suddenly force through is mind.
“So you wanna skip off… class… with me… or …something?” He said after a brief pause to sort out the words. As was evident from his choppy phrase, he had not been able to think it through much before speaking, and he felt a bit like an idiot now. He didn’t even know why he wanted to skip, really, because he knew that he shouldn’t. It as if his mom would really care, and most of his afternoon teachers would bend over backwards for him, if he said he was sick the next day, who were they to argue it?
He grinned at Zander, hoping the kid wouldn’t think of him as a maniac. They had just met, after all, and the reality of life was that you don’t just go skipping off class with someone you don’t know. Though Gabe had heard the way the younger kid spoke of his Spanish class. It honestly sounded like the most miserable thing.
“I dunno exactly what there is to do, but it has to be better than Spanish, right?”

Z A N D E R there are so many ways to laugh at you. Skipping?
He'd never even considered skipping class before, god forbid he'd be struck down by lightning. But, for some reason, Zander looked at Gabe and felt his gut tell him YES. YES. SKIP, SKIP NOW. DO IT ONCE, and you'll never have to do it again. He had to do it at least once; he knew it. So he nodded, and smiled, if not a little hesitantly.
"Sure. That doesn't sound like a bad idea. As long as I get to keep the umbrella."
The students filtering around them were entering classrooms left and right, and he felt himself panic. "I've never done this before- how do we go about escaping without getting caught?"

Gabriel smiled ruefully. “Well, good sir, there is a certain art to every skipper. Mine is a deeply kept secret, which I suppose I’ll have to impart on you.” He looked from side to side, making sure that there was no one around, and that if there was they wouldn’t be close enough to hear his apparently deep and marvellous secret. He beckoned Zander closer and leaned forward, looking side to side once more for show.
“First.” He said slowly, “You turn around.” He took Zander by the shoulders and spun him so that he was facing the door.
“Then.” His eyes flicked up and he lowered his voice by half a tone. “You walk out the door.”
He stood up straight and smiled “Not too hard, is it?”
Gabe handed the umbrella to Zander waiting for him to take it with a wide grin. Gd he felt like such a creep.

Z A N D E R and tell me- who are you, anymore? The doors had never seemed so ominous to Zander's eyes; they'd always just been another thing to open, but now they were the difference between right and wrong. Casually taking the umbrella from Gabe, he smiled and took a shaking step towards the glass-paneled exit.
"So," He held the door open for the other boy, watching his expression. "Where do we go? What do we do?" The mechanics of such a simple thing were a mystery to him. He just didn't get it. "And," he paused, swallowing. "What happens if we get caught?"
